Forming Disciples Leading All to Christ
Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
What's a powerful presence Saint Teresa of Avila is in Columbia County! With 2,400 families we interact with almost every facet of life in the area: family life, public schools, private schools, hospitals, Fort Eisenhower and numerous businesses and civic organizations. Our theme this year, Forming Disciples, Leading All To Christ reminds us of our call to be deeply converted so that we can go share the Gospel. Jesus mentored the apostles and then sent them out on mission. This is the model for us to, to be transformed and to be sent out to all the nooks and crannies of this county. I would like to thank each one of you for your service and its profound impact in our parish family and in the lives of those in our community. I'm humbled by your generosity and faithfulness.
Since our last stewardship initiative, Transformed in Christ, here are just a few concrete ways your sacrificial gifts have changed lives:
- We welcomed over 225 new families last year.
- We had 1,000+ Catholics renew their relationship with Jesus Christ in the Eucharist at the Eucharistic Revival in August 2023.
- We expanded our evangelization efforts by offering additional Activity Center programs.
- We engaged over 700 youths and 250 adults in religious formation and education.
Our theme for this year, Forming Disciples, Leading All to Christ, is a reminder of our baptismal call to love and serve others as Jesus did. When we unite in support of our parish with joyful and grateful hearts, we build a community rooted in faith, love, and service. I invite you to prayerfully discern how you are called to serve with the heart of Christ by renewing your commitment to financially support our parish on Commitment Weekend: November 16 & 17, 2024.
God has blessed our parish in many ways which has allowed us to dream for our future and provide a place of solace for all those on the journey of faith. May we always strive to serve with the heart of Christ, emulating His selfless love and compassion to build up the Kingdom of God.
